Event overview
The 11th Annual Fast & Furriest includes a live race day in Walkersville, Maryland on April 19, 2026 and a virtual option from April 17 through April 20, 2026. The event offers both on-site and virtual participation with multiple entry categories, including a live 5K with and without dogs and a 1 mile untimed walk. Online registration remains open until race morning and on-site registration is available at the check-in tent that morning. Child entries ages 0-10 are free.

Course, registration and benefits
The event takes place at Heritage Farm Park, 9236 Devilbiss Bridge Road, Walkersville, MD. The course is within park grounds and is mostly paved with a few small gravel crossing areas. The event and vendor areas are on grass and can be wet in the morning. Dogs are permitted on a 4-6 foot leash; retractable leashes are not allowed. Shirts are available by reservation only; the last date to reserve a shirt is March 21, 2026. Awards for on-site runners include overall and age-group prizes and separate awards for runners with dogs. Proceeds benefit Operation Paws for Homes, with a current focus on funding treatment for dogs diagnosed with heartworm disease. Food trucks and vendors are listed as to be determined.
