Fast & Funky 5K
Fast & Funky 5K is a family friendly series of 5K events that includes an in-person 5K Run, an in-person 5K Walk, and a 5K Virtual option held during the event week in September 2026. The event features music, contests, and awards, and proceeds will benefit Transitions Family Violence Services and survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and their families.
The in-person activities take place in Newport News, Virginia, starting on E Boundary Rd (Williams Field) across from Warwick High School. The course is listed as the Mariner's Museum certified 5K Race Course. Parking is available at Warwick High School.
Registration opens April 30, 2026, and the stated registration fee is $30.00 per entry. Online and in-person registration options are referenced; in-person registration at the event is noted as cash only. The event is limited to 200 participants.
Race day packet pick-up is provided. Awards will be given in multiple age categories. Participants are encouraged to wear 1960s to 1980s themed attire as part of the event atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
