Fast and Furriest - Palmer
Fast and Furriest is a community running event in Palmer, Alaska, held on October 3, 2026, with the start area at the Palmer Train Depot and venue address 610 S Valley Way. The event offers multiple participation options and supports the nonprofit Dogs2DogTags.

Registration is online only; the standard registration fee for the 5K, 10K, and virtual 5K is listed at $25, and youth entries are free for eligible ages. Pre-event bib pickup is available at the AKtive Soles Performance Footwear location in Palmer, and virtual participants may pick up a giveaway bag there through October 10, 2026.
Participant amenities include a dog bandana for people and a dog pop for dogs at race completion; participants may also purchase a race beanie. Every bib is entered in a sponsor raffle. Awards are planned for the top three men and women in each distance and for the top three dogs and their owners in both the 5K and 10K.
The course will be marked and participants must stay on route. Organizers note variable October conditions and advise appropriate gear. Key race rules: bibs must be visible, headphones are not permitted, no littering, and dropouts must report at aid stations. Dog safety rules require a nonretractable leash, one dog per handler, current vaccinations, immediate cleanup of waste, and removal for aggressive or unsafe behavior.
