Farm Park Challenge
The Farm Park Challenge is a trail running event held in Derwood, Maryland at the Agricultural History Farm Park. It is presented by My Muddy Shoes, a trail running club in Montgomery County, Maryland. The event recurs on the first Saturday in May; the next scheduled date is Saturday, May 1, 2027, and registration opens in January 2027.
The centerpiece is a lap based Challenge where competitors must complete each lap in less than one hour to continue. If a lap is finished in under an hour, participants may rest until the next lap begins. To successfully complete a lap, the entire course must be covered in under one hour.
Distances and formats offered include:
- 3-Hour Challenge: three laps, one lap per hour
- 6-Hour Challenge: six laps, one lap per hour
- 10-Hour Challenge: ten laps, one lap per hour The event also offers a conventionally timed marathon and a 25K.
Volunteers receive the same shirt and etched pint glass as finishers and may run the course before or after their shift. The event includes an aid station and uses a lap based timing structure for the Challenge formats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
