Farm Fresh 5k and 1 mile at Gast Family Farms
The Farm Fresh event on September 5, 2026 is a casual, farm-based running event held at Gast Family Farms, 5165 Lincoln Avenue, Saint Joseph, MI. The event grew out of a family "grape juice weekend" and expanded into a public fun run alongside the farm's retail operations, which added a farm stand in 2021 and a retail farm store in 2022.
The course is a trail-style route through farm fields with many twists and turns; the exact route may be created shortly before the event. The event maintains an informal character and includes participant items such as t-shirts, homemade medals, grape juice, snacks, and optional farm tours. Registration carries a fee of $10 plus the RunSignUp fee; the registration fee (minus the RunSignUp portion) will be donated to the Lakeshore Lions Club. The organizers will match funds raised from race fees up to $500.
Additional notes: participants who register by end of day August 15 are included in the t-shirt order cutoff. In the case of very bad weather the event may be delayed or cancelled; if the race is cancelled or a participant cannot attend, registration fees are treated as donations and are nonrefundable.
