Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge : Hamilton
The Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge in Hamilton is a family team obstacle course event held on Sunday 14 June 2026 at Ngaruawahia Christian Youth Camp, 148 Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia. The course is approximately 3 km; course distances vary by venue and are matched by expected completion time to reflect a flat 3 km cross country equivalent.
The event features a mix of obstacles such as mud pits, climbing walls and crawling tunnels set across farmland and native bushland. Teams are either two or three people: a 2 person team must include one adult (18+) and one child (5–17); a 3 person team may include one or two adults and one or two children, with a maximum ratio of one adult to two children.
Entry fees vary by date: standard online entry is charged from 1 February to 24 May, late online entry is charged from 25 May to shortly before the event, and higher fees apply for event day entry. Every entrant receives a finishers medal and a downloadable certificate. There are no merit prizes; spot prizes are drawn at prize-giving and must be collected in person.
Facilities listed include registration in a gymnasium, hot showers, toilets, changing rooms, free parking and first aid. Food and beverages are available for purchase; cash is recommended. Dogs are not permitted. Covered shoes are compulsory and some footwear types are restricted. Personalised race numbers can be requested if entered at least three weeks before the event.
