Adult Tough Guy & Gal Challenge - Hamilton
The Middleware Adult Tough Guy & Gal Challenge in Hamilton takes place on Sunday 14 June 2026. The event is an off-road obstacle course run held at Ngaruawahia Christian Youth Camp, 148 Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia, on terrain that includes farmland and native bush across 38 hectares beside the Waipa River and the Hakarimata Scenic Reserve.
The course is approximately 6km (two laps at this venue). Obstacles include mud pits, climbing walls and crawling tunnels. Competitors may skip obstacles but those who skip will be ineligible for podium placings. There are no electrified obstacles.
Age and competition formats: the adult event is open to competitors aged 13 and over. Podium merit medals are awarded separately for Open (13–39 years) and Older (40 years and older) categories for the first three men and first three women in the 6km event. A Team Challenge is run for the 6km option only; teams must have at least five members including a minimum of two women. Team placing is calculated from the combined individual placings of the top five team members and a trophy is awarded to the winning team.
Facilities and services provided with entry include hot showers, toilets, changing rooms, free parking, first aid, event support and electronic timing. Personalised bib numbers are available if entry is completed at least three weeks before the event. Hot food and beverages are available for purchase at the venue; cash is recommended.
