Falmouth Triathlon - The Seal
The event takes place at Gyllyngvase Beach in Falmouth, TR11 4PA on 20 September 2026. The swim is held in the blue flag rated waters of Gyllyngvase, which are described as calm. An Australian exit is used after the first swim loop to give supporters a viewing opportunity.
Competitors follow coastal bike and run routes around Pendennis Point with panoramic views toward the Lizard Peninsula and Pendennis Castle. Spectators line a closed road section along Cliff Rd. Seals are sometimes visible offshore. Bike laps are used on both courses: Big Seal is four loops and Little Seal is two loops. Wetsuits are mandatory (shortie or full body).
The event is part of the Cornish Tri Series. To qualify for overall series awards athletes must complete at least four scoring events and either volunteer themselves or bring a volunteer to at least one event. All finishers receive a medal. Volunteer rewards include a 100% entry credit for volunteers and a 50% credit when a friend or family member volunteers on an athlete's behalf.
Two race distances are offered: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
