This event offers three race distances that run along the C&O Canal next to the Potomac River at Great Falls Maryland (11710 MacArthur Blvd). The out-and-back courses follow a light gravel dirt road with minimal elevation change and pass waterfalls that can be viewed after the race. Race registration does not include the park entrance fee.
Distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri‑fit) event shirt, and chip timing. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Walkers and strollers are welcome. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit for completion.
Support on course includes water stations and some Gatorade locations; the organizer provides multiple stations on each course. Restrooms are available near the roundabout. Live results are posted during the event and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Staff photos are posted on the event’s Facebook page by the Tuesday after the event. Volunteer assignments are made on race morning and volunteers are asked to arrive about 60 minutes before the first race.
Points from this event count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. Banditing is not allowed and may result in removal or disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
