Event Overview
The Fall Running Series is a series of five weekly trail running events held on Tuesday evenings from late September to late October. The series takes place in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) near Peninsula, Ohio.
Event Details
Each event in the series is held at a different trail location within the park. The course distance for each event is between 3 and 5 miles. A unique "twist" is introduced for each event, but the details of this twist are kept secret until just before the event begins.
Participants can register for the entire series package or for individual events. Donations from the event benefit the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
Participant Information
Runners and walkers are welcome. A flashlight or headlamp is recommended for participants who anticipate a more moderate pace. All events are held regardless of weather conditions. For the fifth and final event at Camp Butler, participants are allowed to bring their dogs.
Series Scoring and Awards
Points are awarded for series participation. The first four events count toward series scoring, while the fifth event is timed but does not contribute to the point total.
Awards are given for the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three male and female finishers in multiple 5-year age groups. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards.
Included Items
Participants who register for the full series receive a package of items including Feetures socks, a Nathan strobe light, and a finisher medal. The exact contents of the package are listed as "TBD." Participants in individual events select from a grab bag assortment of swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
