Race format and course
The race combines paddle, bike, trek and map-and-compass navigation. The 5-hour course includes biking, canoe or kayak paddling, and trekking with route options; biking is described as a mix of gravel and paved surfaces. The 24-hour course covers multiple parks and conservancies, continues into night and morning hours, and includes paddling, trekking and biking across historical sites. Adventure racing is organized around map-marked checkpoints; teams or solo racers choose routes to reach checkpoints within the time limit, with checkpoint count determining results.
