About the race
The Fall Fling 400 is a trail running event at YMCA Camp Sloper in Southington, CT on November 21, 2026. It is organized by the CT Trailmixers and offers time-based and fixed-distance options on a marked loop course.
Race options include:
- Fling 400: complete as many loops as desired of a roughly two-mile course within a 400 minute time limit.
- Fall Fling 4 Miler: complete two laps of the roughly two-mile course.
- Fling Fanatic Series option links this event with the Spring Fling 600.
The main course is a roughly two-mile loop with moderately rolling hills. Most of the route is single-track wooded trail with some dirt and gravel road sections. Parts of the course include rocks and roots while other sections are smoother. The course will be marked with flags.
Support at the main pavilion start/finish area includes a single aid station with a variety of foods, water, and electrolyte drink. Participants may set up drop bags at the start/finish area. This is a cupless event; participants should plan to use a personal cup or mug. Portalets are available near the start and permanent restrooms are a few hundred feet from the aid station.
Chip timing will count laps and display lap counts at the start/finish area. Only laps completed within the 400 minute limit count for the Fling 400. No pacers are allowed and only registered participants may be on course. Race proceeds support local organizations and a shoe scholarship program.
