Fall Creek Falls Triathlon events : August 15, 2026
The event takes place at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee and is listed as the 21st annual Fall Creek Falls Triathlons. Multiple race distances are offered on the same day, including Half Iron, Olympic, and the Calfkiller Sprint.
- Half Iron: Swim 1.2 mi, Bike 56 mi, Run 13.1 mi
- Olympic: Swim 0.93 mi (1.5 km), Bike 24.8 mi (40 km), Run 6.2 mi (10 km)
- Calfkiller Sprint: Swim 500 m, Bike 22 km, Run 5 km
The Olympic swim takes place in a lake with no current and typically warm water; a wetsuit decision is made on race morning. The Olympic bike course is described as flat to rolling. The Olympic run follows a shaded bike trail through park woods with rolling hills and no steep climbs.
Packet pickup is scheduled Friday afternoon at the tent on the east ball field and again Saturday morning at the race site. Aid station arrangements include Deer Park 700 ml water bottles on the Half Iron bike at mile 24 and mile 39 turnarounds. There is no bike aid for Olympic or Sprint. Run aid stations provide water and Gatorade on two tables; the Half Iron course passes aid stations 12 times, the Olympic 5 times, and the Sprint 2 times.
The events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon; participants must obtain a one day license or annual membership. One day license and membership fees are listed in event materials. Bald Eagle Events LLC maintains a no refund policy but offers optional event insurance during registration. Awards include top three overall and top three age group placings, with age groups ranging from youth through 70 and over, plus Clydesdale and Athena categories.
