Event Overview
The Fairfax Egg Run is a community athletic event held in Fairfax, Vermont. Hosted by the Fairfax Parks and Recreation Department, the event features several distances and categories to accommodate different types of participants. The courses are characterized by gentle, rolling hills and provide views of the Lamoille River.
Following the completion of the distances, participants can access a food tent offering post-race refreshments, including made-to-order omelets prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Registration for the event also includes entry into a post-race raffle.
Race Categories
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 10K Race: A running-only distance for participants of various ages.
- 5K Race: A running-only distance.
- 5K Fun Walk: An untimed walking event.
- Kids Fun Run: A 1K run specifically for those aged 12 and under.
Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult for the 5K and 10K events. The running races are chip-timed, and awards are determined based on chip time. Community Impact and Series
Proceeds from the event support the Fairfax Community Center Restoration Project, which maintains a local hub for various community classes and clubs. The Fairfax Egg Run also serves as the final leg of the Franklin County Triple Crown. This series includes the Sap Run in St. Albans and the Milk Run in Enosburg Falls. Individuals who complete all three races in the series receive a commemorative item and entry into a specific prize drawing held during the Egg Run post-race festivities.
