Brain Freezer 5K in Burlington, VT
The Brain Freezer 5K is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at North Beach Park in Burlington, Vermont. The course runs along the bike path beside Lake Champlain between North Beach and Waterfront Park, with an ice cream pit stop located in Water Works Park.
The event format requires participants to run the first half of the 5K, stop at the pit stop to consume a full pint of Vermont made ice cream, and then complete the second half of the distance. Participants who enter as fun runners are not required to finish the pint. Prizes will be awarded for best costume and best team costumes.
Registration for the 2026 event has a stated fee of $25.00 and the listed registration period opened on September 15, 2025 and closed on November 30, 2025. All proceeds from the race are designated for People Helping People Global, a Vermont based international development organization that provides interest free microloans to people living on less than $2 a day.
