Brain Freezer 5K : Burlington, VT
The Brain Freezer 5K takes place on September 12, 2026, at North Beach Park in Burlington, Vermont. The event follows the bike path along Lake Champlain and runs between North Beach and Waterfront Park, with an ice cream eating pit stop in Water Works Park. The route format used this year is the same as the previous year.
The event offers a distinctive challenge and a noncompetitive option. Challengers run half of the 5K, stop to finish a full pint of Vermont made ice cream, then complete the remainder of the distance. Fun runners may choose to skip finishing a pint. Prizes are awarded for best costume and best team costumes.
All proceeds benefit People Helping People Global, a Vermont based international development organization that provides interest free microloans to people living on less than two dollars a day.
