Event overview
The 17th Annual F^3 Lake Half Marathon & 5k takes place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Soldier Field in Chicago. The event includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 5k
Every registrant receives event apparel and a finisher medal. A post-race gathering is held at Weathermark Tavern; participants showing their medal and bib receive a free beer. Participant photos are provided after the race.
Course, pacing and prizes
Both the half marathon and the 5k are USATF certified (Half: IL18061NM; 5k: IL18060NM). The course runs along Chicago’s lakefront and is described as mostly flat, with every mile marked. Organizers plan three aid stations that are passed twice, offering water, energy drink, toilets and gel at one location. Pacers are provided by Chicago Endurance Sports and Fleet Feet, with pace groups spanning from 1:30 up to 3:30.
A total prize purse of more than $6,000 is offered, with male and female awards for top finishers and masters prizes. Prize amounts include $1,000 for each overall champion and scaled awards for places through fifth, plus masters prizes.
Logistics and packet pick-up
Packet pick-up is scheduled at multiple Fleet Feet locations in January (Schererville, Elmhurst, South Loop, Deerfield, Oak Park, Old Town). Gear check is available at Soldier Field’s United Club. Indoor parking is available in Soldier Field’s North Garage via reservation; show proof of purchase on arrival. Courses close in the early afternoon.
