18th Annual F^3 Lake Half Marathon & 5k

The 18th Annual F^3 Lake Half Marathon & 5k is a winter running event held in Chicago. Participants gather inside the United Club at Soldier Field before the start of the races. Both the half marathon and the 5k take place on a lakefront course consisting of a plowed and salted path to accommodate winter conditions. The event remains a popular fixture in the local running community, having sold out multiple times in previous years.

The available distances for this event include:

  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
  • 5k

The half marathon features several amenities for participants, including pace groups provided by Fleet Feet Training for various time goals ranging from 1:30 to 3:00. There are six aid stations located along the route at intervals between 2.5 and 11.6 miles. Runners in the half marathon receive timing splits at the 5km, 10km, and 10-mile marks. Prize money is awarded to the top five open finishers and the top three masters finishers in both the men's and women's categories.

All registered participants in both races receive a hoodie and a finisher medal. Gear check services are available at the United Club. Post-race activities include an afterparty hosted at Weathermark Tavern on South Michigan Avenue. Additionally, race photos are made available to participants following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
