The event is a 5K held as part of the Eau Claire Marathon 5K Race Series on the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire campus. The course starts and finishes along Park Ave in front of Hibbard Hall. Organizers provide a course map and a parking map for participants.

- Kids' run (quarter mile kids' dash)
Dogs must be registered by adding the dog run option to the 5K registration; existing registrants can add a dog through their participant profile or the organization storefront. Strollers are allowed. Children riding in strollers who want race swag or a medal must be registered individually. Children registered for the kids' run receive a race packet and medal and may ride in a stroller during the 5K without an additional registration; they should take their medal after the kids' run.
If an in-person participant cannot attend, the registration can be switched to a virtual entry; virtual entries receive the same finisher swag and medal. Race day registration may be available if space allows. The event does not offer refunds or deferrals for the ECM 5K Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
