Event overview
The Extreme Adventure Challenge is a timed, team fundraiser held on May 16, 2026 at Life Adventure Center, 570 Milner Rd, Versailles, KY 40383. The event uses a 10K course across a 575-acre farm and is described as a two-hour challenge spanning more than 5 miles. Registration fees range from $60 to $100. The event is open to participants aged 16 and older and includes separate events for two-person and four-person teams.
Format and logistics
Teams navigate 18 checkpoints that mix trail elements and adventure activities. Checkpoint examples include mountain biking, ziplining, archery, and canoeing. Points are awarded for arriving at checkpoints and for completing the challenge at each station; teams submit a punch card at the finish for scoring. Time penalties apply for late arrival and extreme lateness can lead to disqualification. Safety measures and equipment are provided - for example, a certified lifeguard will oversee canoeing and a NASP certified archery instructor will supervise archery - and helmets, harnesses, and personal flotation devices will be demonstrated and issued at relevant checkpoints. All participants receive a race t-shirt, hydration and nutrition. Awards are given by division (male, female, mixed); the winning team receives a trophy and free registration for the following year. Proceeds support scholarships and Life Adventure Center’s outdoor programs for trauma-affected individuals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
