Exeter Live Better Marathon & Community 5 Miles
Exeter Live Better Marathon and the Community 5 Mile are road running events held at Haven Banks and the Quay in Exeter. The programme offers two distance options and uses routes along the River Exe, Exeter Canal and the Quayside.
The marathon runs on a traffic free, largely flat footpath and cycle track beside the River Exe and the Exeter Canal. The marathon is open to participants aged 18 and over, has a maximum time limit of six hours and includes timed cut off points. All marathon finishers receive a medal and a finishers technical t-shirt; trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. The marathon course is officially measured and registered with England Athletics and can be used for Good for Age qualification for the London Marathon.
The Community 5 Mile forms part of The Quayside 5 Series and follows the Exeter Quayside, Riverside Valley Park and returns to Haven Banks for the finish. This event is open to runners aged 15 and over and also awards medals to finishers.
Event support and on course services include water stations, energy drinks, medical assistance, toilets, a bag store and a recovery area. Results are published online and the event offers charity ballot places with a minimum fundraising pledge and a charity team package including a technical running top and post event hospitality.
