Event overview
The Exeter Live Better Marathon and Community 5 Mile are organised by Exeter City Community Trust and scheduled for 3 May 2026. The events use traffic-free footpaths and cycle tracks along the River Exe and Exeter Canal and include sections through the Exeter Quayside and Riverside Valley Park. The marathon course is an officially measured and certified course registered with England Athletics; times from the marathon can be used for London Marathon 'Good for Age' qualification.

The marathon is open to runners aged 18 and over. The maximum time allowed to complete the marathon is six hours and there are timed cut-off points on the route. The Community 5 Mile welcomes runners aged 15 and over and forms part of The Quayside 5 Series; its route finishes at Haven Banks where finishers collect a medal.
Aid and facilities on course and at the finish include water stations, energy drinks, medical assistance, toilets, a recovery area and a bag store. All finishers receive medals; trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Entry options include booking an individual place or securing a charity place with a minimum fundraising pledge of £300.
