  • Marathon
  • Community 5 Miles

The marathon follows a traffic free, flat route along the footpath and cycle track of the River Exe and Exeter Canal. The Community 5 Mile runs along the Exeter Quayside, through Riverside Valley Park and finishes at Haven Banks. The marathon course is officially measured and registered with England Athletics and can be used for London Marathon Good for Age qualification.

Entry rules state minimum ages of 18 years for the marathon and 15 years for the Community 5 Mile. The marathon has a maximum finish time of six hours and includes timed cut off points for those unable to maintain the minimum expected pace. All finishers receive a medal; marathon finishers also receive a finishers t shirt and trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers.

Course support and finish area facilities include water stations, energy drinks, medical assistance, toilets, a recovery area and a bag store. Runners using a charity place are asked to meet a minimum fundraising pledge of £300 and may receive event materials and post event hospitality from the organiser.
