Exeter Live Better Marathon
The Exeter Live Better Marathon takes place on 3 May 2026. The course is described as flat and traffic-free, running along the footpath and cycle track of the River Exe and Exeter Canal. The event is open to runners aged 18 and over. The maximum permitted time to complete the marathon is six hours, with timed cut-off points on the route for runners unable to maintain the minimum expected pace. The course is officially measured and registered with England Athletics, so recorded times can be used for London Marathon 'Good for Age' qualification. All marathon finishers receive a medal and a finishers’ t-shirt; trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Support on course includes water stations, energy drinks and medical assistance. Finish-area facilities typically include toilets, a recovery area, medical station and a bag store.
Community 5 Mile
The Community 5 Mile event also takes place on 3 May 2026 and forms part of The Quayside 5 Series. The route runs along the Exeter Quayside, through Riverside Valley Park and finishes at Haven Banks. The event is open to runners aged 15 and over. Medals are provided to all finishers and trophies are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Organisers offer charity places with a minimum fundraising pledge of £300. Training and race information, results and route guides are published by the organisers.
