Exeter 10k River Run
The Exeter 10k River Run is an evening running event held in Exeter. The course follows a picturesque and traffic-free route along the River Exe. The path is notably flat, making it an option for those looking to transition from shorter distances or for runners who are not yet prepared for a half marathon.
The event is open to participants of various abilities, including those who have recently completed a couch to 5 km program. Due to its timing in June, the race often serves as a mid-season distance for individuals training for autumn marathons.
Participants must be at least 15 years old to enter. The event is timed and UKA licensed, and members of England Athletics are eligible for a discount on their race entry. All finishers receive a medal upon crossing the line.
Facilities provided for runners include:
- Bag store
- Toilets
- Water stations
- Medical assistance
- Recovery area at the finish line
The course involves running on paths shared with the public, including pedestrians and cyclists. The route passes through wooded areas and sections of the Matford industrial estate before looping back along the river. Results are typically published shortly after the event via email and online platforms.
The race is organized by the Exeter City Community Trust, with proceeds supporting sports participation and wellbeing activities within the local community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
