Exchange Ambulance of the Islips is a volunteer EMS organization with about 150 members providing 24/7 emergency medical service to roughly 45,000 residents across about twenty square miles. The organization also provides EMS assistance to Fire Island through the county marine bureau. Event responders handle medical and traumatic emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, and rehab at structure fires or large scale incidents.
Registrants receive a dry fit shirt with size guaranteed for registrations on or before August 23. Personalized bibs are available for participants who register three weeks in advance. Live results are provided online and by text and email, and finish line photos are available at no extra cost.
Awards are presented by gender for overall top finishers and by age groups, and a separate award is given for the top first responder. There is no parking fee at the park and street parking is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
