Event details

York 5K takes place on 12 June 2026 at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, York, YO10 5FG. The race distance is 5 Kilometres on a road circuit. The course is flat, laid out as five laps, and the event is suitable for wheelchairs. The race is chip-timed and holds an England Athletics licence or has one applied for. Results are sent by text at the finish and kilometre splits are published the next day. Runners receive a chocolate bar at the finish. The event is organised by Even Splits. Entry is limited to 200 places.

Entry, fees and facilities

Online entry opens on 5 December 2025 at 10:00 and online entry closes at 10:00 on race day. Entry on the day is not available. Single race fees are £10.00 (affiliated) and £12.00 (unaffiliated). A York Race Pass (June-Nov) is available at £47.00 (affiliated) and £56.00 (unaffiliated); prices include race fees, card charges and admin. First-time entrants are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be reused at York and Leeds events; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be used in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed per 12 months; further replacements cost £4. The organiser allows one deferral to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and places cannot be transferred.
