The York 5K on 8 May 2026 is a road race held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit in Heslington East, York. The distance is 5 kilometres, run as five laps of the cycle circuit. The course is flat and suitable for wheelchairs. The race is chip-timed; results are sent by text at the finish and kilometre splits are published the next day. Participants receive a chocolate bar at the finish. Race headquarters is at University of York Sport Village, Lakeside Way, YORK, YO10 5FG.
Entries, fees and facilities
Entry opens at 10:00 on 5 December 2025 and online entry closes at 10:00 on race day. The entry limit is 200 places; remaining places listed as 200. Entry on the day is not available. Single race fees are: affiliated £10.00 and unaffiliated £12.00. A race pass for May to November is available: affiliated £52.00 and unaffiliated £63.00. Race numbers with embedded timing chips are issued on first entry and may be reused; one free number replacement is allowed in a 12 month period, subsequent replacements cost £4. Deferral is allowed once to the next event in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and places cannot be transferred. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets; there are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. The organiser is Even Splits.
