Even Splits York SuperSprint 5K : May 2026
The Even Splits York SuperSprint 5K is a trial race held at the University of York Sport Village cycle circuit in March, April and May. The event is organised by Even Splits and takes place on a flat, road circuit consisting of 5 kilometres run over five laps. Race headquarters are at the University of York Sport Village, Cycle Circuit, Heslington East, Lakeside Way, YORK, YO10 5FG.
Entry to the SuperSprint is restricted by expected finish time: male and open entrants must expect 17 minutes or under, and female entrants 19 minutes or under. The SuperSprint runs immediately after the usual Open race on the same night; the Open race is available to runners of all speeds. Entry on the day is not available. Entry fees are shown as £10.00 for affiliated entries including a medal and £12.00 for unaffiliated entries. The listed entry limit is 100 places.
Races are chip timed. Results are sent to runners by text at the finish and kilometre splits are published the next day. Entrants receive a race number with an embedded timing chip on first entry; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020 to 2025 may be reused if recorded on the entry form. One free number replacement is allowed per entrant in a 12 month period, with subsequent replacements charged at £4.
Facilities: water, distance markers and toilets. No changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage are provided. Deferral of a place is allowed once to the next race in the same calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred.
