Leeds 5K (August 2026)

The Leeds 5K is a road race held at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre. The event takes place on a traffic-free, flat course situated within the Bodington Playing Fields. Participants complete three laps of the circuit to reach the total distance.

The race is EA licensed and chip-timed, with results appearing on Power of 10. Runners receive their results via text message upon crossing the finish line, followed by the publication of mile splits the next day. A chocolate bar is provided to all participants at the conclusion of the event. The course is also noted as being suitable for wheelchair users.

The event operates with a specific race number system. Upon first entry, runners are assigned a number with an embedded timing chip that is used for both Leeds and York 5K events. Those who possess a red 5K race number from previous years (2020-2026) are required to reuse it. Registration facilities include water, distance markers, and toilets, though there are no changing facilities, showers, or baggage storage available on-site. The entry limit is set at 200 participants, and registration must be completed in advance as there is no entry available on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
