Event overview
The Leeds 5K on 26 August 2026 is a monthly, traffic-free 5 kilometre road race held at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields. The race is chip-timed and uses a three-lap, flat course that is suitable for wheelchairs. Results are sent by text at the finish and mile splits are published the next day. A small finish token (a chocolate bar) is given to finishers.
Entry, fees and rules
Entry is limited to 200 runners; 191 places remained at the time shown in the organiser’s information. Online entry closes at 10:00 on race day and entry on the day is not available. Prices listed include card and admin charges: single race entry £10.00 (affiliated) and £12.00 (unaffiliated); Leeds Race Pass (Aug-Nov) £34.00 (affiliated) and £40.00 (unaffiliated). Entrants may defer their place once to the next race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and race places cannot be transferred to another runner. One free race number replacement is allowed in a 12 month period; subsequent replacements cost £4.
Facilities and race administration
Race headquarters is at the Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields, Bodington Avenue, Leeds LS16 8NA. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. First-time entrants are assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip to collect at Registration; previously issued RED 5K numbers from 2020-26 may be reused in 2026 if recorded on the entry form.
