Ranger Ultras PB137km Trail Challenge
The Ranger Ultras PB137km Trail Challenge is a dedicated trail running event spanning a total distance of 137 km along the Pennine Bridleway. The route features a total ascent of 3275 metres, traversing diverse landscapes across West Yorkshire and the North Yorkshire moors before concluding in Cumbria. The course follows established National Trails and rights of way, utilizing well-defined surfaces and waymarked paths.
Participants must complete the distance within a 50-hour time limit. The event is open to runners and walk-jog participants aged 20 or older, with a maximum capacity of 20 entries. The challenge includes:
- 137 km distance with generous timings for completion.
The itinerary includes a mandatory registration and kit check in Hebden Bridge the evening before the start. The route is divided into two main stages: a 68 km section from Hebden Bridge to Settle, followed by a second 68 km section from Settle to Kirkby Stephen.
Indoor checkpoints are provided along the course, offering hot meals, showers, and sleeping space. Participants have access to a personal drop bag at the midway point in Settle and again at the finish line in Kirkby Stephen. The entry fee covers bunkroom accommodation on the registration evening, floorspace at the midway checkpoint, and hostel accommodation at the finish venue.
