Esplanade 5K Run & Walk
The Esplanade Association presents the Esplanade 5K Run & Walk on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Fiedler Field on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston, MA. The event includes a vendor fair and fall-themed activities for participants and spectators. The route uses shared-use park pathways and interior footbridges; some footbridges have a cobblestone, uneven surface. There is no parking inside the park.
- 5K Run - timed event with chipped bib and awards
- 5K Walk - untimed; strollers and leashed dogs allowed; bib without chip
Registration, logistics and policies
Pre-event registration is available; day-of registration is offered at a higher fee if the event is not sold out. Run registration includes a chipped bib and eligibility for awards. Walk registration includes a non-timed bib. All registrants receive a virtual prize bag, a pre-event information packet, and an 18 oz recycled commemorative cup. The event is rain or shine.
Strollers and dogs are allowed only in the Walk. Dogs must be leashed no longer than 6 feet, start at the back of the Walk, and owners must carry waste bags. Accessible entry is available via the Frances Appleton Pedestrian Bridge; accessible gender-neutral portable restrooms will be on site.
