Esplanade 5K Run & Walk
The Esplanade 5K Run & Walk takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Fiedler Field on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston, MA 02114. The event includes two options: the 5K Run and the 5K Walk. The Run is a timed event; runners receive a chipped bib and awards are given for top finishers across overall and age/gender categories. The Walk is untimed; walkers receive a non-timed bib. Registration fees are listed as $35 for the Run, $30 for the Walk, and $45 for day-of registration if space remains. Registration opens June 26, 2026.
Event details and access
The event features a vendor fair, fall-themed activities, food, and music. All registrants receive a virtual prize bag, a pre-event information packet, and an 18 oz commemorative cup made from recycled material; t-shirts will not be provided. Strollers and leashed dogs are permitted only in the Walk; dog leashes must be no longer than 6 feet and owners must clean up after their pets. Bib pickup is available on pre-event dates at the Esplanade Association office and at Marathon Sports in Back Bay, with day-of pickup at the registration tent. The Frances Appleton Pedestrian Bridge is noted as the most accessible entry. Interior footbridges on the course may have cobblestone and uneven surfaces. Portable accessible restrooms will be on site. There is no parking inside the park; nearby garages and street parking are options. Proceeds support the Esplanade Association’s park work and programs.
