Erie Half & 5k
The Erie Half & 5k takes place on Sunday August 16, 2026, at Reliance Park in Erie, Colorado. The event is part of the Hometown Race Series, a set of races that stage half marathons and 5k distances in communities outside the Denver and Boulder metro areas.

All registrants receive a short sleeve gender specific T shirt. Every finisher in both the 5k and the half marathon receives a finisher medal. At the Erie event, the early morning skies are often dotted with colorful hot air balloons.
The event supports local charities through a race day food drive for Sister Carmen. Participants who bring five non perishable items are entered into the race day raffle. A current list of most needed items includes canned beans, toiletries, and grains. The race also partners with Sneakers4Funds to collect gently used or new athletic shoes; donations benefit the charity Growing Home. Shoes can be brought to advanced packet pickup or on race day.
