Run with the Buffalo Ugly Sweater Fun Run - 5K
The event is a themed fun run and walk held at Buffalo Run Golf Course in Commerce City, Colorado, at 6060 E Parkway Drive. The main distance is 5K (approximately 3.1 miles). Participants are encouraged to wear holiday or "ugly" sweaters for the themed atmosphere.
The entry fee covers a swag bag, a medal, and other festive items. After the run there are snacks, photo opportunities, announcements for the ugly sweater contest winners, and an annual raffle that supports Commerce City’s Project Present. Bag pick up is available the day before the run at Bison Ridge Recreation Center.
The field is managed in waves: the first wave is recommended for runners who average 11-minute miles or faster; the second wave is intended for participants who are slower than an 11-minute mile, those who plan to walk, or those who plan to use a stroller. Strollers must stay at the back of the start line. Pets are not allowed.
An Early Bird Special runs from September 4 to October 25, 2026, during which a reduced registration price applies. The event is organized by the Commerce City Recreation Department and is open to co-ed participants ages 5 through 99. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
