EREF 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk held at Hewlett Point Beach in East Rockaway on April 18. Registration is not yet open; a notification option is noted for when registration becomes available.
Amenities for participants include a T-shirt for the first 100 registrants, a personalized bib number for those who register three or more weeks before race day, and post-race refreshments.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers overall, plus top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Proceeds benefit the East Rockaway Education Foundation.
Bib pickup is offered in person with event staff available before the event. Participants must know their bib number to pick up in person; a Self Lookup area is provided for those who do not. If registration occurs within 24 hours of bib pickup, registrants receive their bib number by text within about 90 seconds. Virtual bibs are shipped, with a shipping window from one week before the event to one week after the event.
