EpicTrails 8km Hunting out more trails
The event is an 8 km social trail run that starts from Milngavie Train Station and follows local paths including sections of the Clyde Coastal Path and the West Highland Way. The route will include additional smaller trails in the area.
Runs are led by a guide who is qualified, experienced, insured and first aid trained. The group format is social rather than competitive; participants will regroup at points along the route and no one will be left behind. Group size is kept to a manageable level for safety. The organiser describes varying pace depending on distance and route type.
Dogs and under 18s are not permitted because they are not covered by the event insurance. Mandatory kit will vary with route and season and will be specified in the run brief; trail shoes are always required and participants without required kit will not be allowed to join the run.
The event is run not for profit. Fees first cover event costs and any surplus is donated periodically to a local charity. The listed entry fee is £3.00. A service fee applies at sign-up of 4 percent with a minimum charge of 50p. Total places are limited to 14. Refunds are available only if requested and are not given for cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
