ACORN Duncan Macfarlane Race "The Dunky"
The event is staged by Acorn Trails on 26 October 2025 at Mugdock Country Park, Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire. The course is a two-lap trail totalling 7.5 km. The route passes two castles, a loch and a World War II anti-aircraft emplacement, circles the water's edge and, weather permitting, offers views across the Greater Glasgow area.
Logistics and prizes
The event was listed with a total of 120 places and its status is closed. Entries included a donation to the Woodland Trust and a per-entrant fee paid to East Dunbartonshire Council for park upkeep. The entry package included access to an overflow carpark for the first 70 cars (organisers encouraged car sharing), a fully waymarked and marshalled route, qualified first aid cover, and finish-line refreshments and a snack. Event-specific buffs, t-shirts and sustainably sourced wooden medals were available at additional cost. Prizes were awarded by gender (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and for first in age categories V40, V50, V60, V70; prizes were Migo Sports vouchers (1st £50, 2nd £25, 3rd £10) and age-category first prizes included entry to a future Acorn Trails event (to be confirmed).
