Newton Road Races 10k and 3k
Newton Road Runners stages an out-and-back 10 km and 3 km event on Saturday 24 October 2026. The route starts at Westburn Hall in Cambuslang and follows the Clyde path on a well-maintained tarmac surface with no road crossings or traffic to contend with. The course is predominantly flat with a couple of small hills.
The event holds an official measurement, carries a Scottish Athletics licence, and is chip timed. Race categories and entry notes include:
- 10 km (over 15 only)
- 3 km (15 and under; children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult)
Registration is based at the Newton Arms pub, with toilets available, and the race start is about a five minute walk from there. Parking is available at Newton Train Station. Limited entries may be available on the day. All finishers receive a goodie bag and prizes are awarded to first, second and third placed men and women.
Entry conditions require eligibility under SAL rules and that entrants are physically fit for the distance. Entries for those under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian. Entries are not transferable, cannot be deferred, and refunds are only made if the organisers cancel the race. All participants run at their own risk.
