Newton Road Races : Cambuslang
The Newton Road Races are scheduled for Saturday 24 October 2026 and are organised by Newton Road Runners. The event offers two measured out-and-back distances that follow the Clyde path, starting at Westburn Hall in Cambuslang on a well-maintained tarmac path. The route has no road crossings or traffic to contend with, is predominantly flat with a couple of small hills, and is chip timed under a Scottish Athletics licence.
Distances
- 10 km for competitors over 15 years
- 3 km for competitors aged 15 and under; children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult
Registration is based at the Newton Arms pub (Newton Brae, G72 7UE), with toilets available and the race start approximately five minutes on foot. Parking is available at Newton Train Station, G72 7TD. No dogs are allowed on the course because the path is narrow. Limited entries may be available on the day.
Prizes and partners include a goodie bag for all finishers, awards for first, second and third male and female finishers, and a partnership with Stomp Socks. Entry conditions note eligibility under Scottish Athletics rules, that under-18 entries must be made by a parent or guardian, that participants run at their own risk, and that entries are non-transferable with no deferrals or refunds except if the organisers cancel the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
