EpicTrails 11km : Greenock Cut
EpicTrails offers an approximate 11 km trail run on 30 July 2026 that follows a loop of the Greenock Cut and the Overton track. The run starts at the parking area on Overton Road at the junction with Papermill Road. Depending on light conditions, participants may see views across the River Clyde, the Cowal Peninsula and Greenock. A head torch is required because light may be fading.
The run is guided by a person who is qualified, experienced, insured and first aid trained. Runs are organised as social group outings rather than races; the group will regroup at various points and no one is left behind. The intended pace is suited to those who can complete a road 10 km in under 60 minutes. Group sizes are kept manageable for safety.
Dogs and under 18s are not permitted due to insurance restrictions. Mandatory kit for this outing includes a head torch and trail shoes, with other kit varying by route and time of year. The activity operates on a not for profit basis: funds first cover costs and any surplus is donated periodically to a local charity. Refunds are provided only if requested and are not given for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. Total places are limited to 16 and a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies.
