The Maverick Ochil Hills Trail 2026 - event information
The event takes place on 8 August 2026 at Airthrey Castle, University of Stirling, Stirling, Scotland (FK9 4LA). It is organised by Maverick Race and celebrates the Ochil Hills. The route starts at the university and runs through Hermitage Wood and Black Hill, then along undulating open trails with views towards the Ochils. The course includes forest and fell terrain with some climbs.
Dogs are not allowed due to likely high temperatures. The event aims to be plastic free and asks participants to bring a reusable cup or bottle; water at outposts is self-serve from barrels. Outposts will provide sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte drinks. Headphones are not recommended. Cut-off times apply to the Ultra and Marathon routes. A single transfer out of an event is allowed, and transfers must be made by the Monday before the event.
