About the race
The 2026 EOD Warrior Holiday Dash offers three timed road running distances on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path with in-person and virtual participation options. Points from the event count toward the 5k, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Fall series. The race partners with the EOD Warrior Foundation, a charity that provides financial assistance and support to active-duty and veteran EOD warriors, their families, and maintains the EOD Memorial.
Distances:
- 5K starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse on the C&O Canal path.
- Half Marathon begins and ends in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club.
- Full Marathon begins and ends in Georgetown and follows two out-and-back segments.
Course surfaces are light gravel and dirt with minimal elevation change; the 5K is described as a flat out-and-back. The full marathon is a Boston-qualifying course and carries a six hour time limit. Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are placed along the courses: 14 on the marathon, 7 on the half marathon, and 1 on the 5K; some stations provide Gatorade. Live race results are posted on Athlinks and a QR code at the event provides immediate access. Packet pickup is available at the event. No on-site race registration will be offered.
