Event Overview

The English Riviera Race is a new event for 2026. It takes place on a completely closed road circuit in the centre of Torquay, Devon. The course surface is smooth tarmac.

Course Details

The route is a lap of exactly 5 km. The 10K race consists of two laps. The course is described as "pretty flat" with a couple of rises per lap and a total elevation of approximately 47 meters per 5 km lap. The start and finish is on the road next to Torre Abbey Meadows. From there, it follows the seafront west towards Preston, turns at about 2.4 km, and returns to complete a loop around the back of Torre Abbey.

Event Features

A UK Athletics License has been applied for. The course will be accurately measured and run under UK Athletics rules, with results published on Power of 10. Participants receive a finisher's medal, and there are podium medals for top finishers. Professional chip timing provides lap splits for the 10K race. The event includes a commentator, music, professional first aid, marshals, and public liability insurance.
