Engine Race overview
Engine Race is a race-style fitness competition that combines running with a series of functional workout stations. The format alternates short running legs with seven workout stations, and it includes individual and team entries with both solo and pairs options.
The event uses three entry categories with different running distances and station loads. Distances by category:
- Beginners: 200 m
- Athlete: 400 m
- Legend: 600 m
The seven workout stations are ski erg, front plate carry, row erg, med ball sit ups, dumbbell snatch, devils press (burpees), and box step ups. Repetitions and weights at each station vary by category.
Engine Race brings together multiple gyms and aims to build community through shared fitness events. The organisers report that past events have raised over £5000 for charities across England. The next scheduled event is Engine Race 3.3, listed as taking place at Fitness Blueprint in Stoke Mandeville on November 14th and currently marked as sold out.
