Dirt Half Challenge: Leighton Buzzard
The Dirt Half Challenge is a trail half marathon held in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire on 7 November 2026. The event uses Cedars Upper School as race headquarters and the course includes canal towpaths, parkland, woodland and ridge paths.
The route begins in the market town, completes an anti-clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, then follows the Grand Union Canal towpath north to Stoke Hammond. Runners climb through countryside to Great Brickhill, pass through Rushmere Country Park woodland and follow the Greensand Ridge back to the start. The finish includes a clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park. Surface types include towpath, off-road hill sections, woods and a boggy flood plain in places.
The event notes marshals, volunteers and first aid provision along the course. Entry is open to people aged 17 and over on the event date. Published entry fees range from £31.00 to £33.00 for 2026. Parking information lists free limited spaces at the school and alternative paid parking near Leighton Buzzard train station, which is about a ten minute walk from the school.
