Dirt Half Challenge

The Dirt Half Challenge is a trail half marathon held in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire on 8 November 2025. The event is based at Cedars Upper School, Mentmore Road, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 2AE (What3Words: windmills.thinking.factor). The race is described as an autumn trail event with on-course marshals and first aid support.

Course and logistics

The route begins in Leighton Buzzard and includes an anti-clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, then follows the Grand Union Canal towpath north to Stoke Hammond. Runners climb through countryside to Great Brickhill, pass through Rushmere Country Park woodland, follow the Greensand Ridge back toward the start via the canal towpath, and finish with a clockwise lap of Tiddenfoot Waterside Park. Surfaces include tow path, off-road hills, woodland trails and a boggy flood plain.

Parking at the school is free but limited; roadside parking is possible with consideration for residents. An alternative is paid parking at Leighton Buzzard train station, with close to 700 spaces operated by SABA UK and a walk of about ten minutes to the school.
