The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail 2026
The event takes place at Stonor Park, Henley-on-Thames, in the Chiltern Hills. Trails run through the estate, which is home to fallow deer and occasional wallabies, and include rooty, uneven terrain in low light conditions with head torches required.
There are three waymarked routes on estate trails:
- Long: 17 km, +494 m elevation
- Middle: 13 km, +361 m elevation
- Short: 7 km, +100 m elevation
The Middle and Long routes include one fuel and hydration outpost each; the Short route has no outpost. Outposts provide a range of snacks, gels and electrolyte and are intended as a top up to what participants carry. The event aims to run outposts cup-free, so participants should bring a refillable cup or bottle.
Facilities listed for the event include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, food and drink at the venue, a bag drop area and a metal finisher medal. Toilets are available only within the start and finish area. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Required personal kit recommended by the organiser includes a head torch, water bottle or running pack, trail shoes and a rain layer. Headphones are not permitted.
