The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail 2026

The Maverick Dark Oxfordshire Trail takes place on 7 November 2026 at Stonor Park near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. The event is a night trail run set within the Stonor Park estate in the Chiltern Hills. Routes start and finish in the park and run through estate trails where fallow deer and occasional wallabies have been observed.

Three route options are provided and take place entirely within the estate:

  • Long: 17 km, elevation gain +494 m
  • Middle: 13 km, elevation gain +361 m
  • Short: 7 km, elevation gain +100 m

There is no outpost on the Short route. The Middle and Long routes each have one outpost offering a range of sweet and savoury snacks, gels and electrolyte. Outposts do not provide pre-filled disposable cups; participants should carry a reusable cup or bottle. Toilets are available only within the start and finish area.

Mandatory and recommended items are listed for safety and comfort; a headtorch or chest torch is required and headphones are not permitted. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult. Organisers ask that runners aim to finish within roughly 2.5 hours to limit marshal exposure. Event facilities include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, food and drink on site, bag drop and a metal finishers medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
