Classic Quarter
The Classic Quarter is a 44 mile ultra marathon along the south Cornish coast, running from Lizard Point to Land's End. The route follows the South West Coast Path and includes steep climbs and descents across rock, mud and trail. Total ascent for the course is listed as 5,531 ft. The event was first held in 2007 and the 2026 edition marks the event's 20th anniversary.
The event is organised by Endurancelife and offers three entry formats:
- Solo: 44 miles
- Relay pair: 44 miles
- Relay quad: 44 miles
The course is fully waymarked and uses electronic timing. Entries for 2026 are sold out and a waitlist is available for any places that open. The solo category counts toward the 2025–26 Season Leaderboard. Organiser information lists optional add-ons such as coach transport from finish to start and a small event safety kit; basic event inclusions also note a finishers medal, an energy bar and instant result printouts with split times.
Prize details include a conditional award of two £1,000 prizes if current course records are beaten; prize money is split between the winner and a charity chosen by that participant.
