Run Mawnan

Run Mawnan is a yearly community road running event organised by Falmouth Rotary Club to raise money for local charities. It offers a range of distances and a children’s fun run set in the Cornish coastal village of Mawnan Smith.

All courses start and finish at Carwinion Playing Field and follow road routes through the village and surrounding lanes. The route passes the Red Lion pub and runs along country roads toward Trebah Gardens and the turn to Helford Passage. At that turning point 5K runners return to the playing field while 10K runners continue north through the village, turn left through Boskensoe where a complimentary drink station is provided, then proceed via Tregarne and Penwarne before returning down Penwarne Road to Carwinion Road and the finish.

The children’s fun run passes the primary school and runs through wooded Carwinion Lane back to the playing field. Children under 7 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Registration is required and takes place at Carwinion Playing Field; registration opens at 8:30am and closes promptly at 9:30am. Entries open 19 May 2026 and close 13 September 2026. Entry on the day is possible subject to a £2 surcharge; finisher’s medal and goody bag are not guaranteed for on the day entrants.

Entry fees include Children’s Fun Run £6, 5K under 18 £12, 5K 18 plus £16, and 10K 18 plus £18 with a £4 NUS student reduction. Post race refreshments include a licensed bar, a barbecue, a cake stall, entertainment, a raffle, massage and other stalls. Prize categories are specified by age bands for each distance.
