About the race
Run Mawnan is an annual community running event organised by Falmouth Rotary Club in Mawnan Smith, Cornwall. All courses start and finish at Carwinion Playing Field and follow a road route through the village, passing local landmarks, river views of the North Helford and nearby gardens.
Distances:
- 10K for ages 18 or older
- 5K open to adults and under 18 entrants via an adult account
- 1 Mile Children's Fun Run for children up to 12 years
The 5K returns to the playing field after following country roads to Trebah Gardens. The 10K continues north through Boskensoe, Tregarne and Penwarne before returning to the playing field. The children’s route passes the primary school and wooded Carwinion Lane; children under 7 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Registration is required and is handled at Carwinion Playing Field. Entry fees vary by category, with listed fees for the children’s fun run and 5K and 10K, and a student reduction for NUS card holders. Entry on the day is possible subject to a surcharge and finisher medals and goody bags for on the day entrants are not guaranteed.
Post race provisions include refreshments, a licensed bar, a barbecue, a cake stall, entertainment, a raffle, massage and other stalls. Prize categories are provided for the fun run, 5K and 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
