Empower the Exceptional 5k & Fun Run
Empower the Exceptional is the ninth annual Superhero 5k and Fun Run held at Hyde Lake Pavilion on Great View Drive North in Memphis, Tennessee on September 19, 2026. The event supports Exceptional Connections International, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower people with disabilities in under-resourced communities.
The event offers a timed 5k with a chip finish and an untimed 1k fun run. Both courses are accessible and wheelchair accessible. Registration includes a t-shirt with a superhero logo; the t-shirt is guaranteed for registrations completed by August 25, 2026. A virtual participation option is available and will include posted results and overall virtual winners.
Participant amenities and features listed for the event include costume and team prizes, door prizes, Race and Fun Run buddies, and medals with handmade lanyards from Africa for first through third place in each age group. A 15% group discount applies to groups of five or more. Early packet pick-up is scheduled the day before at Fleet Feet Memphis.
