Event details
The Empire Ranch Trail Run is scheduled for January 24, 2026, at 16655 E Empire Ranch Rd, Sonoita, AZ 85637. The event is a joint partnership between the Empire Ranch Foundation and Run Tucson and is organized to raise funds for the Empire Ranch Foundation. Total registration is capped at 500 participants. Entry fees listed are $30 for the 10k, 5k and 1 mile events and $10 for the Children's Mile; prices increase after October 31, 2025. The event includes souvenir shirts, age-group and overall awards, post-race snacks, and post-race activities and demonstrations. Timed finishes with finisher videos are provided for the 10k, 5k and 1 mile events.
Course and logistics
The courses use a combination of dirt trails, BLM 2-track, cattle paths, and Empire Ranch lands. The planned trail is generally rated "green" for technical terrain, with some rocky sections and rolling hills. Cattle may be present on the route. Dogs are not permitted on the running courses. The course is not suitable for chair athletes and may be very difficult for visually impaired athletes. There is on-site parking at the Empire Ranch.
