Emerald Bay Trail Run : Lake Tahoe point-to-point trail run
The Emerald Bay Trail Run is a point-to-point trail race that starts at Eagle Point, follows a route around Emerald Bay, climbs the Rubicon Trail into D.L. Bliss State Park, and finishes at Lester Beach. The course distance is about 7 miles (approximately 11 to 12 km) and follows mostly single-track trail with moderate climbs and descents. Sections of the route are somewhat technical and include natural granite steps.
The event takes place in Emerald Bay State Park and the D.L. Bliss area, a parkland of about 1,830 acres that includes rocky and sandy shoreline, ponderosa and Jeffrey pines, firs, cedar, junipers, cottonwood, and sugar pines. Promontories such as Rubicon Point and the crest of Eagle Falls offer wide views of Lake Tahoe, Fannette Island, and distant shorelines.
Parking is located at Eagle Point Campground, and a shuttle service is provided after the event from the finish back to the start. The race fee covers an event T-shirt, a finishing medal, a free digital race photo, recovery snacks and cold beverages, basic medical staff, and shuttle service back to the start.
