Emerald Bay Trail Run
The Emerald Bay Trail Run is a point-to-point trail race in the Lake Tahoe area held on September 12, 2026. The route begins at Eagle Point, goes around Emerald Bay, ascends the Rubicon Trail into D.L. Bliss State Park, and finishes at Lester Beach. The course distance is approximately 7 to 7.5 miles (11 to 12 km).
The trail is mostly single track with moderate climbs and descents and includes some technical sections with natural granite steps. Runners pass scenic overlooks associated with Emerald Bay and D.L. Bliss State Park; views from nearby promontories include Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, Lake Tahoe, and the distant Nevada shore. Emerald Bay State Park covers about 1,830 acres and features rocky and sandy shoreline, and a mix of conifer and deciduous trees along the route.
Event logistics include parking at Eagle Point Campground and a shuttle service from the finish back to the start. Parking is also available at D.L. Bliss for a fee. Registration is offered in Individual and Senior/Youth categories with tiered pricing. Race fees cover an event T-shirt, a finishing medal, a free digital race photo, recovery snacks and cold beverages, medical staff, and shuttle service back to the start.
