Course

The Emerald Bay Trail Run starts at Eagle Point and follows a point-to-point route of approximately 7 miles (11 km). Runners travel around Emerald Bay and up the Rubicon Trail, finishing at Lester Beach in D.L. Bliss State Park. The course is mostly single-track with moderate climbs and descents. The trail is described as somewhat technical with natural granite steps.

Location and Setting

The run takes place in the Emerald Bay State Park area near Lake Tahoe. The park is a Registered Natural Landmark, carved by glaciers, and is noted for its scenic hiking and trail running. The route offers views of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay, Fannette Island, and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains.

Registration

General registration fees range from $70 to $75. Discounts are available for youth (18 and under) and seniors (65 and older). Discounts are also offered for club/team members, challenged athletes, and military personnel (Active Duty, Reserve, Retired); these require contacting the organizer via email.

Event Details

The registration fee includes an event T-shirt, a finishing medal, free digital race photos, recovery snacks, cold beverages, medical staff on site, and a shuttle service back to the start area from the finish. Parking is available at the Eagle Point Campground start area. A post-race shuttle runs from Lester Beach (finish) back to Eagle Point. Participants may also park at D.L.
