Logistics, awards and course details
Bib pickup is available the day before at Fleet Feet Fresno (1:00–3:00pm) and on race day at Balsam Forebay (6:55am). Parking is along the dirt road shoulder near the Highway 168 entrance to Balsam Forebay; some walking from parking to the start may be required. Aid stations: 14K at miles 1.5, 4.5, and 6.6; 8K at miles 1.5 and 3.1. Supplies include GU Roctane drink, GU gels, water, and snacks.
Course marking uses orange ribbon, flags, cones, and signage at turns. The 14K has a granite section under one mile that is steep and rugged; runners must follow orange cones and not the nearby mountain bike trail. A timed King and Queen of the Mountain prize awards $100 to the top male and female up the Ely Mountain climb; eligibility requires a Strava/GPS recording and immediate upload to the Strava segment leaderboard. Results, awards, and finisher items are provided, including top 3 overall, age-group awards in 10-year increments, custom finisher medals, and event shirts. Volunteers are requested for several roles; perks include free entry to a future race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
