Elma Days 10K Run/Walk
The 20th Annual Elma Days takes place in Elma, Iowa, featuring distances on a flat and certified course (IA 10011MF). The route follows the Old Roundhouse Trail and concludes north of the water tower. The event coincides with the community's Elma Days celebration, which includes a parade and various activities scheduled throughout the afternoon.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 10k run or walk
- 5k run or walk
The 10k race follows an out and back route. It begins at the finish line in Elma, proceeds to Lylah's Marsh at the 3.1 mile mark, and returns to the starting area. The 5k race starts at Lylah's Marsh and finishes in Elma; transportation is provided to take participants to the starting point. Hydration stations offering water and Gatorade are located at Lylah's Marsh.
The entry fee includes a breakfast and an awards presentation held at the Memorial Hall after the event. Participants receive a standard cotton shirt with their registration, though upgrades to dri-fit or specific sizes are available for an additional fee. Registrations completed after July 3 do not guarantee a shirt or goody bag. The event also features a theme encouraging participants to wear groovy attire.
