The Elizabeth 8K is a spring running event held in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte, NC. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the event has drawn more than 1,300 runners in recent years and is organized around community support and neighborhood beautification.
The course starts and finishes just off Elizabeth Avenue and winds through historic, tree-lined residential and commercial streets. The program includes a timed 8K road race that offers awards, a 1.5 mile untimed run/walk for casual participants, and a short children’s run called the Liz Kids’ Fun Run.

Proceeds benefit the Elizabeth Community Association and TreesCharlotte, a nonprofit focused on Charlotte’s urban forest. The event is supported by local, regional, and national sponsors. Registration and pricing are managed in tiers for the 8K and the 1.5 Mile event, and the Liz Kids’ Fun Run does not require registration.
