Elevation Everest - Course overview

Elevation Everest takes place at Winter Park Resort on September 25, 2027 and offers both Half and Full formats on the same day. All race registrations share a 17 hour time cap. The event includes solo and relay options with specific lap assignments per team size.

Each lap on the course gains 1,600 ft of elevation and covers 2.2 miles. Base Camp is at 9,100 ft and the top of the course reaches 10,700 ft. Every lap starts and finishes in Base Camp. The gondola ride down from the top takes about 8 minutes. Course maps do not show the 0.15 miles from the bottom of the gondola back to Base Camp that athletes complete to finish each lap.

Distances and primary formats

  • Half Everest: 10 laps, 16,000 ft gain, 22 miles
  • Full Everest: 19 laps, 30,400 ft gain, 42 miles

Relay formats divide those laps among 2, 3, or 5 team members, with per-member lap counts specified for each relay option. Medal eligibility follows the registered race format; registering for the Full Everest does not entitle a participant to a Half Everest medal if only the half distance is completed. For tracking and safety, athletes must complete the remainder of the final lap even if they have already accumulated the listed Everest-equivalent elevation totals.
