Summits Trail Runs
The Summits Trail Runs take place at Granby Ranch Resort in Granby, Colorado on June 12, 2027. The event has a combined runner capacity of 250 and offers multiple trail distances.
Distances include:
- Elevation Challenge (14hr)
- 50k
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 6 Mile
Courses run on single-track trails through alpine meadows, aspen groves and dense forests and feature notable elevation gain and loss. Aid stations are provided along the courses; the Elevation Challenge has an aid station at the top and bottom of the West Peak route and requires runners to check in at those stations during each loop.
The Elevation Challenge is scored by total elevation climbed over 14 hours. Each loop on that course is 1.98 miles with 766 feet of ascent and 766 feet of descent, giving 1,532 feet of elevation change per complete loop. Only complete loops count toward the final tally.
Logistics include a virtual pre-event briefing, on-course drop bag options (Start/Finish for all participants; Bootlegger Aid Station for Half, Marathon and 50k), and designated parking areas. Camping is available in a reserved parking area with a per-night fee; a reservation is required and fees vary by campsite type. Spectators are limited to the start/finish area. Crews and pacers are prohibited. All finishers receive a unique finisher award and the Elevation Challenge has awards tied to elevation milestones. The event is held under agreement with the private landowners of Granby Ranch Resort. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
