Electric City Gobbler Thanksgiving Day Tradition
The event takes place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at the Anderson Mall main entrance on Clemson Boulevard in Anderson, SC.
Distances and event formats:
- 5K - chip timed; certified course on city streets (SC04033BS).
- Tail Feathers on Fire 1 Mile Time Trial - chip timed; course enclosed around the mall.
- 1 Mile Fun Run - untimed; course enclosed around the mall.
Registration fees are listed as $15 for the 5K and the 1 Mile Time Trial and $5 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. The price includes a chipped bib and a finish-line medal; souvenir race shirts are optional for an additional fee. Packet pick up is available the day before the event at the mall.
Awards for the 5K include top three male and female overall winners, top three male and female masters, and top three male and female grandmasters. The Tail Feathers on Fire 1 Mile Time Trial presents top three male and female overall awards plus age-group awards. Age groups include 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-70, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.
Strollers are welcome and costumes are encouraged. Medals and hydration are provided at the finish line. Proceeds support scholarship programs for local children through the Operation Active Kids program (OAK). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
